This design was produced when I worked at Western Carolina University as a student graphic designer. Hayden Kristal is a deaf, queer activist who is also a stand-up comedian and public speaker that touches on important issues such as diversity and intersectionality. I decided that I wanted to include elements of illustration to highlight that Kristal was invited to Western Carolina University to talk about sign language and how our community could be more inclusive. I illustrated the signs for “Hey ASL” and went with the color palette that the event coordinator requested.
